Jack of all Trades, Master of Most

Hi I’m Che Kabia. My pronouns are they/them. I am nonbinary, transmasculine human, and a proud Libra twin. Born in New York and New Jersey raised. I am a Northeast based actor, dramaturg, poet, clown, and technician. As a first-generation transmasc Sierra Leonean artist, my creative journey has been shaped by my upbringing—infused with my mother’s passion for Bollywood films, and enriched by my experiences growing up in New Jersey navigating global media.

After graduating from Boston University, I’ve pieced together a multidisciplinary approach that blends relentless textual analysis with vibrant physical embodiment and my playful, pestering jester. I also spent some time as a Repair Technician with Apple, expanding my toolbox to include troubleshooting and technical hardware support. Very useful, when I began stage managing.

Currently I am a resident actor at Mercury Store in Gowanus, where I’ve deepened my collaborative practice supporting established artists through the willingness to play on sight. My recent acting credits include understudying King Edward IV & King Henry VII in "Richard III" (Soho Shakespeare Company), Freddy in "Crooked Parts" (Fresh Soil Arts Collective), and Sebastian in "Twelfth Night" (Catskill Mountain Shakespeare).

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to authentic representation, I seek to unearth the memory of identity, and cultural connection through all of my work. Whether engaging through traditional theatre, poetry, comedy, or innovative digital mediums, I aim to illuminate the complexities of the human experience with sincerity, depth, and unbridled joy.
